Taylor Swift turned into a full-time pop star with 1989. However, she hasn’t overlooked her roots. On Tuesday, nation amass Little Big Town discharged the music video for “Better Man” and uncovered that Tay discreetly composed this most recent single off their up and coming to the seventh record, The Breaker.
With verses like “I’m probably better off all alone than needing a man who could change his mind at any given minute,” it’s a breakup song for the books. Would you expect anything less from the songstress who blessed us with “Wildest Dreams,” “All Too Well,” and countless other lost-love anthems?
“[Swift] sent us this song and it was one that was very special to her,” Little Big Town singer Karen Fairchild said in a press conference, explaining their decision to keep the credits private. “She said, ‘That’s the greatest honor as a songwriter that you could ever give me is that you don’t want anyone to know I wrote it.’ We knew we would tell eventually, and it was a hard question to dodge for a while. The only reason we didn’t say is that we wanted for you to hear it for what it’s worth, and it’s a beautiful song.”
After the huge uncover, Taylor shared her sweet words for Little Big Town, who’ll be performing live Wednesday night at the CMA Awards. “Feeling honored that a band I’ve loved for so many years decided to record this song I wrote,” she composed on Instagram. “Love you guys.”
